2013 Workshop: 14 - 18 January
As in previous years, a handful of aspiring painters gathered to acquaint themselves with a new way of 'seeing' and then painting what they see. That is, focusing on color and shape. We do not paint pretty postcard pictures suitable for framing. Rather, we paint studies to learn how to see and how to mix color and how to interestingly break up the space of a blank, intimidating canvas. Skill level is an irrelevant variable. The Monday through Friday intense course is not a competition. The objective is to paint and struggle within and improve--not paint better than anyone other than self. Snapshots from this year's group below. And, as always, their work amazing.
